JEWELLERY VALUATIONS

In an ever-changing world, it is important to ensure that your most precious possessions are accurately insured, just in case the worst ever happened. Here at Henry Rose Jewellers, we offer Jewellery Valuations that may be required for insurance purposes, probate, or family division.

What is a Jewellery Valuation?

A jewellery valuation is more than just a document with a description and a price – it is the result of a detailed process completed by a knowledgeable jewellery appraiser.

A valuation provides a complete description and verification of what the jewellery actually is, in the form of a printed document. It confirms the existence of the jewellery and gives a carefully considered determination of its correct ‘value’ for a particular purpose. Jewellery valuations can be needed in many different circumstances, for example, if you want to sell your jewellery, or you are insuring your jewellery

Most insurance companies require jewellery valuations to be updated normally every 3 years.

Depending on your policy, in some instances to be fully insured, your jewellery items will require an up to date valuation. If you are in the unfortunate situation where you need to make a claim, following loss, damage or theft, an up-to-date valuation is paramount in ensuring a claim can be settled accurately.

What is the difference between a probate valuation and insurance valuation?

Probate value refers to the actual market value, whereas insurance valuations ensure that you get a replacement of equal value. If you’re in any doubts to, which is the most suitable valuation for your jewellery, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
